Gold
Every gold price is an answer to one question: what will the market pay to hold an asset that produces nothing? Gold has no coupon and no earnings. What it is worth on a given morning depends on what the alternative to owning it is worth, and that alternative is the yield on a safe bond after inflation.

Prices are periodic snapshots from public sources, shown for orientation only — they are indicative, can be stale, and are not a quote. A price marked “via” a ticker is that ETF’s share price standing in for the underlying, not the underlying’s own level or change. Nothing on this page is investment advice.
