Silver
Fifty-eight per cent. That is the share of total silver consumption accounted for by industrial demand in the Silver Institute's 2026 World Silver Survey, reported in August 2026, and it is the number that separates silver from every other precious metal. Gold's buyers are central banks and insurance-motivated investors. More than half of silver's buyers are factories, and almost everything strange about how the metal trades follows from that one fraction.
