USD/JPY
On 30 April 2026 Japan's Ministry of Finance sold ¥6,278.7 billion of foreign currency to buy yen in a single day. It was the largest one-day yen-buying operation in the official series, which runs back to April 1991. Two further operations followed on 4 May and 6 May, taking the campaign to roughly ¥11.7 trillion. The figures are published in the MoF's own Foreign Exchange Intervention Operations dataset, in units of 100 million yen.
