Financial Times Stock Exchange 100 Index, also known as FTSE 100 Index or FTSE 100 is the representative stock index of the London Stock Exchange. 

It includes 100 most important companies listed on the London Stock Exchange after market capitalization. The FTSE represents about 80% of the total capitalization of the exchange.

FTSE 100 was created in 1984 and is published and reviewed quarterly by FTSE Group. The FTSE price has increased with over 700% since its inception.
