In the hour that began at 00:00 UTC on 6 October 2026, LayerZero's ZRO token traded as high as $2.190 on Binance's ZROUSDT market and finished that hour at $2.066. By 07:00 UTC the last price was $2.109. The 24-hour ticker, from an open of $1.902 at 07:00 UTC on 5 October, read up 10.883%, which the headline rounds to 10.88%. The window high was that midnight print. The low was $1.899.
Bitcoin and ether did not come along. On Binance tickers that also closed at 07:00 UTC, bitcoin was down 1.088% at $85,310 and ether was down 1.011% at $2,697.91. The ZRO session since midnight was not a gain either. The 6 October candle opened at $2.167, and $2.109 sits 2.68% under that open and 2.72% under the 5 October close of $2.168. The headline percentage is a rolling day that includes the prior rally. It is not the change since the date turned.

A midnight high, then a lower morning
Through the evening of 5 October, hourly closes sat near $2.04 to $2.12. The 23:00 UTC hour closed at $2.168, the daily close. The next hour, the first of 6 October, printed the window high of $2.190 on about $1.48 million of quote volume, then gave it back. The 01:00 hour's low of $2.043 is the low of the 6 October candle so far. Hourly closes from 02:00 to 05:00 held between $2.121 and $2.144, and the 06:00 hour closed at $2.108. The 07:00 hour had barely started at the pull: about $3,400 of quote volume and a last of $2.109.
A reader who sees only "up 10.88%" will picture a market still rising at London breakfast. It was not. Most of the rolling gain was booked on 5 October, when the candle went from a $1.974 open to a $2.168 close, up 9.83% close to close, on $25.18 million and 181,623 trades. The low that day was $1.896.
4 October was the quiet session in between: open $1.993, high $2.070, low $1.958, close $1.974, off 0.95%, on $13.99 million. The loud day in the set is 3 October, up 14.15% to a $1.993 close, with a $2.146 high, $36.36 million of quote turnover and 340,398 trades. The rolling window's own open, $1.902, sits inside 5 October.
Recent daily candles, with 6 October shown as the 07:00 print rather than a finished close:

The same clock, three books:
| Binance pair | Last | 24-hour change | Quote volume |
|---|---|---|---|
| ZROUSDT | $2.109 | +10.883% | $24.60m |
| BTCUSDT | $85,310 | -1.088% | $1.165bn |
| ETHUSDT | $2,697.91 | -1.011% | $632.3m |
ZRO's percentage is the outlier. Its dollar turnover is not. Bitcoin's USDT book turned over about $1.16 billion in the same style of window. A 10% move on $24.6 million reprices this order book. It does not show that crypto as a whole was bid at 07:00. The figures are spot ZROUSDT on Binance, not a perpetual and not a blend of venues. Where another screen disagrees, this piece uses this print, because it is the book that was pulled and the book the chart uses.
What was posted, and what was not
The company blog, opened on the morning of 6 October, showed no post dated that day. The pages that do exist are about distribution.
On 21 September LayerZero wrote that Anchorage Digital Bank, N.A., which the note calls America's first federally regulated crypto bank, had selected it for stablecoin issuance. The page lists USAT, USDPT, USDGO and fUSD as projects the platform supports, and says Tether's USAT is the first to launch on the OFT standard. A 22 September essay points back at that choice. It quotes no named executive and it names no price.
The issuer note with a named person is from Seoul, on 7 September. LayerZero said BDACS, called there the largest digital asset custodian in South Korea, had selected OFT for KRW1, described as the first on-shore won-backed stablecoin. KRW1, the note says, already existed on Ethereum, Avalanche and Circle's Arc. Under OFT a unit is debited on the source chain and credited on the destination, so one supply is meant to stand across connected networks. Stargate is named as the application that does that debit and credit.
Harry Ryoo, CEO of BDACS, is quoted on that page. "The value of a Korean won stablecoin lies in its global scalability," he said. He added that KRW1 "has established a technical foundation to expand beyond Korea into global markets by enabling more flexible use across multiple blockchains through the application of OFT." The note also says KRW1 is reserved one for one with won at Woori Bank, with an independent attestation, and that BDACS passed 80 billion won of assets under custody in the first half of 2026. Those lines are on the 7 September post. They are not a reserve check redone for this piece.
The company's own volume figures do not sit still. The 25 August ATLAS note says OFT had facilitated $290 billion across 160+ chains. The 21 September Anchorage note says the mesh is 170+ blockchains. The BDACS note, dated 7 September, says OFT "facilitates 87% of all cross-chain volume transferred" and has moved "$280 billion in lifetime transfers across 170+ chains."
The two pages do not match.
A lifetime dollar figure that falls from $290 billion to $280 billion between those pages is not new transfers being added. This article does not adopt either dollar total, or the 87% share, as a measured flow. Each number is what LayerZero wrote that day.
A named counterparty can still sit next to a move when the paper is close to the session. The Clearing House's selection of Quant was that kind of episode, in the note on that 32-hour window. ZRO on 6 October has no equivalent page. The Anchorage post is 15 days old and the BDACS post is 29 days old. That age makes them a weak account of an hour that traded $2.190 and was at $2.109 by 07:00.
Where $2.109 sits against the old high
The chart is daily closes on ZROUSDT from 1 August through the 6 October print. No scenario lines are drawn. The last point is $2.109 at 07:00 UTC, not a settled daily close.
The lowest daily close in that window was $0.716 on 2 August. From there to $2.109 is up 194.6%. The close was $1.199 on 25 August, $0.995 on 15 September and $1.180 on 21 September, then $1.390 on 22 September. It had been $1.105 on 6 September, so the path was not a straight climb. From the 17 September close of $1.044, the 07:00 print is up 102.0%.
Further back, the $2 handle is not a record. In the 1,000 daily candles beginning 20 June 2024, the highest wick is $7.567 on 6 December 2024 and that close is $7.182. The $2.109 print is 72.1% below the wick and 70.6% below the close. The lowest wick in the pull is $0.311 on 10 October 2025. Repairing the August 2026 low does not rewrite either mark.
The 5 October close of $2.168 is the first daily close at or above $2 since 13 April 2026, when the market finished at $2.036. Daily closes in between stayed under $2. It is still below the 2026 high close in this pull, $2.313 on 17 March. A return through $2 after almost six months is a change in the tape. It is not a high.
A passed upgrade can be checked because the vote has a date. Optimism's move from $0.096 to $0.126 after Upgrade 20 is that kind of file, set out in the note on that vote. The ZRO pages opened the same way are from August and September. None of them is a 6 October parameter change that matches the midnight hour.
Design notes, deadlines, and the totals left out
The 25 August ATLAS note, on a headless market backend called Aggregated Trading Liquidity and Settlement, says ZRO secures the Zero chain by delegated proof of stake, pays gas, and governs upgrades. Venues in that design stake ZRO for higher fee rebates, in tiers up to 1% of supply. The page never says what 1% is in tokens, and this piece does not fill the gap.
The fee split is a design, not a blotter. After the venue rebate, 25% of the remainder goes to the market creator and 75% is assigned to repurchase ZRO and burn it. The 25 August page does not say a measured quantity was purchased on 5 or 6 October, and it states no cumulative balance. Treating that paragraph as the source of this week's dollar total would invent the link.
The 15 September operations note says STG can still be converted into ZRO until 15 December 2026, a window the note ties to last year's Stargate acquisition. It gives no outstanding balance, so none is stated here. From 1 October, it said, Stargate would send every transfer by Taxi rather than by the batched Bus route. The routers were not re-checked on chain. The same note retires the v1 relayer and the v1 bug bounty on 15 December, raises the v2 bounty to $3.5 million, and cuts testnet support to about ten networks by the end of October. None of those lines counts tokens sold into the midnight hour.
Secondary headlines on 6 October attached a repurchase total to the move and credited Arkham. That page did not open. No LayerZero post states the total, and no transaction from those headlines was matched on an explorer, so the dollar sum and the cumulative token count are omitted.
Unlock calendars failed a different test. Tokenomist and Tokenomics.com were both opened on 6 October. They do not agree on the size of the next release, and one page does not agree with itself on circulating supply. The date and the token count could not be confirmed together, so this piece states no release date, no release size and no float.
A pleading in British Columbia
On 25 September 2026, a Friday, Brian Danga at The Block reported that Evercrest Technologies, the company behind KelpDAO, had filed a notice of civil claim in the Supreme Court of British Columbia on Thursday against LayerZero Labs Ltd., LayerZero Labs Canada Inc. and co-founder Bryan Pellegrino. This desk did not open the court file. The account is Danga's report.
RelatedSky (SKY) Price Prediction: $0.12 Bull vs $0.06 Bear
As reported, the filing alleges negligent misrepresentation, negligence and defamation, tied to an exploit the claim dates to 18 April at about 17:35 UTC. The report says 116,500 rsETH were taken, worth about $292 million then. The notice is quoted: "The exploit was not a failure of KelpDAO's systems." It continues, "It was a failure of LayerZero's own security infrastructure." The report says the pleading claims LayerZero endorsed a one-of-one verifier setup on a Unichain bridge. It also says Evercrest states that users have withdrawn more than $650 million since the exploit. That figure is Evercrest's, as carried by The Block. It was not rebuilt from chain data here.
Bryan Pellegrino, identified in the report as co-founder and as a defendant, disputed the allegations. "The claim continues to be meritless," he said on X, Danga reported. The X post was not re-opened. Nothing opened this morning shows damages awarded. A 10% tape and an unread pleading can both be true. Neither one is a price.
What this changes
The usable change is the reference print. At 07:00 UTC on 6 October, Binance spot ZRO was $2.109, up 10.883% over 24 hours, on $24.60 million of quote volume, after a midnight hour that traded $2.190 and did not hold it. A screen that still has the token under $1 is behind the closes on this chart. A screen that calls $2.109 a new high is behind December 2024, and behind the 17 March 2026 close of $2.313.
The primary pages did not change this morning. Anchorage, KRW1, the December conversion deadline, the Taxi switch and the $3.5 million v2 bounty were already written. They are not a cause pinned to the 00:00 hour. The ATLAS fee split is a published rule, not a filled order. The repurchase dollars in secondary headlines, and the unlock size the calendars could not agree, stay out of this account.
A product event in the same week as the candle is a different kind of story. Sui's late-September gain sat next to a DeepBook app going live, which is why that session could be tied to a dated launch rather than to the percentage alone. ZRO's file does not offer that joint. A later primary note that describes a transfer, a conversion total or a response to the British Columbia claim would change this account. So would a daily close back under the early-October range.
That is not a target.
No level is named as a destination. There is no directional call, only the print and the pages around it.
Questions the tape leaves open
Did LayerZero (ZRO) rise or fall in the 24 hours to 07:00 UTC on 6 October 2026?
It rose on the rolling ticker and fell on the session. Binance ZROUSDT was up 10.883% from $1.902 to $2.109 across those 24 hours, the 10.88% in the headline. From the 6 October open of $2.167 the same last price was down 2.68%. Both numbers are from the 07:00 UTC pull. The rolling figure on its own hides a down morning.
Did LayerZero publish a reason for the trade at $2.190?
Not on the pages opened for this piece. The blog index and the posts taken from it had nothing dated 6 October. The nearest distribution notes are Anchorage on 21 September and the regulated-stablecoin essay on 22 September. The 15 September operations note sets December deadlines and an October Taxi switch. None of them prices the midnight hour.
Why do two LayerZero pages disagree on transfer volume?
On 25 August the ATLAS note said OFT volume was $290 billion across 160+ chains. On 7 September the KRW1 note said $280 billion across 170+ chains, and added an 87% share. A chain count can rise while a lifetime dollar total falls only if the series was restated. This article quotes both dates and adopts neither figure as settled.
What is the British Columbia case, briefly?
Brian Danga reported on 25 September 2026 that Evercrest Technologies, which operates KelpDAO, filed in the Supreme Court of British Columbia against LayerZero Labs Ltd., LayerZero Labs Canada Inc. and co-founder Bryan Pellegrino. The report ties the pleading to an 18 April exploit of 116,500 rsETH, put at about $292 million, and quotes Pellegrino calling the claim meritless. The court file was not opened. The allegations are not findings.
Does this article set a price target for ZRO?
No. It records a Binance print that has already happened, the closes around it, and the pages that do not explain the midnight high. There is no bull case, no bear case and no level named as a place the token should trade next. A later filing, or a close back through the early-October range, would change the account. Neither is a forecast.
This article is analysis, not a recommendation. Capital is at risk. Cryptocurrency prices move quickly. The figures come from the Binance pull at 07:00 UTC on 6 October 2026 and from the LayerZero and The Block pages named above. They will not match a later screen. The 6 October candle was still open. The British Columbia matter is a pleading and a denial, not a decided case.
