An employee of the Riksbank who has holidayed in northern Italy tested positive for the coronavirus on Friday. This person has worked from home since they arrived back in Sweden last Saturday, in line with the Riksbank’s recommendations to its employees and has not had contact with any other employee at the Riksbank or take part in any external meetings.
The Riksbank follows the recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Sweden. In addition to these recommendations, the Riksbank has taken further precautionary measures regarding its employees. Riksbank employees who have travelled to any of the worst-affected areas must, for instance, work from home during the two weeks immediately following their return home. The Riksbank is also urging all employees to avoid non-essential business trips abroad.
