Is Mantle’s market treating a sequencer client swap as a finished upgrade, or only as a date on a calendar, after Mantle (MNT) rose 5.0% to $0.5530?
CoinGecko’s hourly series put MNT at $0.5267 at 12:00 UTC on 20 October 2026, about five minutes after Mantle’s official account said the mainnet sequencer would move from Geth to Reth at 07:00 UTC on 28 October. At 08:07 UTC on 22 October the same feed showed $0.5530, a 5.0% rise across roughly 44 hours. The rolling 24-hour change on that later pull was 2.24%, high $0.5623 and low $0.5429. Those are different windows.
An hour before the post, the 10:00 UTC mark was already $0.5277. The 12:00 print was the low of the hours that followed. By 15:00 UTC MNT was $0.5403. An hour later it was $0.5321, so most of that pop did not hold. Midnight on 21 October was $0.5349. The hourly sample then reached $0.5601 at 21:00 UTC.
Mantle’s own account posted the clock. That post is the primary statement of the date, not a view on the token’s price.

On Oct. 28, 7AM UTC, our Sequencer moves from Geth to Reth, after a clean run on Sepolia.
Same chain, lighter footprint, and tighter ZK alignment.

What the next session added
The reply posted with the notice named two changes: leaner software, so the chain runs on less memory and storage, and a base shared with Succinct Labs’ proving stack. No action was required during a window of about 40 minutes, and documentation would follow. The notice said the move came after a clean run on Sepolia.

A switch the roadmap already listed
Mantle’s public roadmap, opened on 22 October 2026, already places a full mainnet switch of the sequencer and of RPC nodes onto pure Reth in the second half of 2026. Geth would stay as disaster-recovery hot standby. That task is still open.
The 20 October post put an hour on a plan the docs already carried. A notice that tells holders to do nothing is a thin explanation for a demand shock. Market cap was $1.83 billion, rank 56, on $29.7 million of 24-hour volume, about 1.6% of the cap. A separate desk piece sets bull and bear cases for Arbitrum. This note does not. The crypto desk holds those pages together.

Key facts
- MNT was $0.5267 at 12:00 UTC on 20 October and $0.5530 at 08:07 UTC on 22 October, a 5.0% rise. CoinGecko, 22 October 2026.
- The rolling 24-hour change at that pull was 2.24%, with a high of $0.5623 and a low of $0.5429. CoinGecko, 22 October 2026.
- Market cap was $1.83 billion, rank 56, and 24-hour volume was $29.7 million, about 1.6% of the cap. CoinGecko, 22 October 2026.
- Mantle set the mainnet sequencer move for 07:00 UTC on 28 October, about 40 minutes, with no user action required. Mantle on X, 20 October 2026.
- The roadmap still lists the mainnet sequencer and RPC switch to Reth as an open second-half task, with Geth as standby. Mantle docs, opened 22 October 2026.
What the 28 October window can still change
The hour Mantle named is still ahead, and nothing in the notice is a price target. The sequencer either moves at 07:00 UTC on 28 October or that clock slips. Documentation either repeats the 40-minute window, with no user action required, or it does not. A quiet drift into that hour would look like 20 to 22 October. A one-print jump would not. The RPC fleet remains on the same open Reth task.
Verdict
The 5.0% rise records that MNT traded higher across the two sessions after Mantle named an hour for the sequencer switch. It does not show that the post caused the move, or that a client change alters demand for the token. The roadmap had already promised the switch and still lists it as open.
This report records a published notice and CoinGecko prices retrieved at 08:07 UTC on 22 October 2026. It is not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold Mantle (MNT).
