tastyfx states the whole Zero+ bill in one line on its account page: "When you open a 1 lot position, you pay $5." The next sentence adds another $5 for the close, "for a total of $10 per round-trip trade," and that $10 is the clearest number the US dealer prints anywhere in its pricing.
Everything else on the tastyfx pricing pages is a floor: Standard EUR/USD from 0.8 pips, Prime from 0.6, Zero+ from 0.0, with no typical or average spread anywhere. FOREX.com prints a September median for the same pair, and OANDA prints one unlabelled figure. Against that, tastyfx claims "the best spreads in the US."
This review tests that claim on one standard lot of 100,000 euros, where a pip is worth $10, using pages and NFA BASIC records opened on 6 November 2026 between 06:00 and 06:30 UTC. A round turn is the opening trade plus the closing trade.
The most useful finding sits in how the commissions are built. tastyfx charges a fixed $5 per standard lot per side. FOREX.com charges $7 per $100,000 of US-dollar notional, so its EUR/USD commission rises with the euro: its own example at 1.1000 comes to $15.40 a round turn, and at the European Central Bank reference rate of 1.1224 for 5 November 2026 the same ticket costs $15.71 before any spread. A stronger euro widens that gap with neither schedule changing, while OANDA's core plan, $0.70 per 10,000 units a side, stays at $14.

The matrix: one lot, seven rows, two kinds of number
The table puts every EUR/USD figure the three dealers printed into one grid, and the basis column carries the weight. A floor is the best price a dealer says it shows, while a median is the middle of a month of quotes, and blurring the two is how a "best spreads" banner gets written.
| Dealer and account | EUR/USD spread printed | Basis | Commission, round turn | All-in, one lot | Entry condition |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| tastyfx Standard | 0.8 | Minimum | $0 | $8.00 floor | $0 minimum |
| tastyfx Zero+ | 0.0 | Minimum | $10 | $10.00 floor | Active Standard account |
| tastyfx Prime | 0.6 | Minimum | $0 | $6.00 floor | $50,000 deposit |
| FOREX.com spread-only | 1.5 (as low as 1.2) | September median | $0 | $15.00 median, $12.00 floor | Account minimum page unopened |
| FOREX.com RAW | 0.1 (as low as 0.0) | September median | $15.71 at 1.1224 | $16.71 median, $15.71 floor | Account minimum page unopened |
| OANDA spread-only | 1.4 | Unlabelled | $0 | $14.00 | Standard account |
| OANDA core pricing | 0.0 | Minimum | $14 | $14.00 floor | $10,000 balance |
Floor to floor, tastyfx Standard at $8 is $4 under FOREX.com's spread-only floor of $12 and $6 under OANDA's printed 1.4. That part of the claim survives the arithmetic.
The median test is where the schedule runs out. FOREX.com gives its typical September EUR/USD spread as 1.5 pips, defines typical as the monthly median and dates the table, and tastyfx publishes nothing comparable. For tastyfx Standard to cost more than FOREX.com's median ticket, its own typical EUR/USD spread would have to exceed 1.5 pips, and the pages give a reader no way to see whether it does. The footnote behind "the best spreads in the US" names an FXEmpire accolade as its source and links the outlet's methodology, while the dealer's own spread data stays unpublished.
Zero+ costs more than Standard at the printed floors
Zero+ is pitched to traders "who need every pip working in their favor." On the floors tastyfx itself prints, it is the dearer of the two everyday accounts. Standard's EUR/USD floor of 0.8 pips is $8 on one lot. Zero+'s floor is 0.0 pips plus $10 in commission, which is $10.
Zero+ pulls ahead only when the gap between the two spreads at the moment of the fill is wider than one pip. If Standard is quoting 1.3 pips and Zero+ is quoting 0.2, Standard costs $13 and Zero+ costs $12. With typical spreads unpublished on both accounts, that test is impossible to run from the pricing page.
The commission itself is cheap by US standards. The FAQ line that other major brokers charge "$7+ per side ($14+ roundtrip)" holds against OANDA's $14 and FOREX.com's $15.71. One wording problem sits on the summary page, where the comparison grid lists Zero+ commission as "$5 per lot" with no side named. The account page fixes it as per side, and a reader working from the grid alone would halve the bill.
tastyfx launched the account on its own X feed in January, and that post set the 0.0-pip framing tested above.

"All available pairs" covers 13 symbols. The pricing grid lists Zero+ coverage as 7 major USD pairs and 6 popular crosses, against 85+ pairs on Standard and Prime.
Who holds the ticket
All three firms are CFTC-registered Retail Foreign Exchange Dealers and NFA Forex Dealer Members. The differences sit in the other registrations and in the record.
| Firm on the contract | NFA ID | CFTC registrations | NFA / CFTC actions | Arbitration / reparations | 10%+ owner listed | EUR/USD margin |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| tastyfx LLC (dba IG) | 0509630 | RFED, Introducing Broker; FCM pending since 16 December 2025 | 0 / 0 | 0 / 0 | IG US Holdings Inc | 2% |
| GAIN Capital Group LLC (dba FOREX.com) | 0339826 | FCM, RFED | 4 / 0 | 6 / 28 | GAIN Holdings LLC | 2% |
| OANDA Corporation | 0325821 | FCM, RFED | 2 / 1 | 0 / 4 | OANDA Global Corporation | 2% |
The registration columns come from the NFA BASIC profile for each ID, retrieved 6 November 2026, and the margin column comes from tastyfx.com/accounts/standard, the forex.com/en-us margin-requirements page and oanda.com/us-en/trading/our-pricing on the same day.
The tastyfx record is the youngest of the three. Its RFED registration and NFA membership date from 15 October 2018, against 2010 for both peers' RFED lines and 2003 to 2004 for their FCM registrations. A clean sheet of zero actions over eight years is a real point in its favour. Some of the gap with GAIN Capital reflects two decades of retail business, and BASIC lists counts without saying what each case decided.
The pending FCM application matters more than it looks. BASIC shows monthly FCM capital reports for FOREX.com and OANDA and none for tastyfx, which instead posts its net capital summary on its own disclosures page.
The footer ties tastyfx to tastytrade, Inc. and tastylive, Inc. "through common ownership of IG US Holdings, Inc.," and places it outside SEC broker-dealer registration, FINRA and SIPC. The US book is a different company, under a different regulator, from the IG entities in the IG review.
Two footnotes, one revenue model
On the pricing page, footnote 1 says tastyfx "is compensated through a hedging arrangement with IG Markets Ltd." On the Prime page, the footnote attached to the same zero-commission claim says it "is compensated through the spread."
Both can be true at once, since a dealer can earn the spread and lay the risk off with an affiliate. The disclosures page adds a third description in capitals, "WHEN YOU SELL, THE DEALER IS THE BUYER," and notes that some clients sit in a tighter spread category. Prime is that category in product form.
What $50,000 buys on Prime
Prime cuts the EUR/USD floor from 0.8 to 0.6 pips, a 25% saving and $2 a lot, while the advertised "up to 44%" belongs to NZD/USD, at 0.9 against 1.6.
The cash yield is the bigger lure. The headline is 8% APY on the first $50,000 of available cash and 4% above that, with a footnote saying the boosted rate runs for 120 days from account activation before falling to a standard rate the page leaves unstated. Further down, the qualification steps add a condition the headline omits: "Earn interest on cash if you trade $10M in monthly notional volume." Counted the way the rebates page counts volume, opens plus closes, $10 million is roughly 45 one-lot EUR/USD round turns a month at 1.1224.
FOREX.com's VIP tier pays 10% APY on average daily available margin up to $20,000 and 4% from there to $500,000, with VIP status starting at a $5,000 initial deposit. The FOREX.com review covers that tiering in full.
Rebates, swaps and the conversion line
The volume rebate carries two thresholds on two tastyfx pages. The rebates page and the Standard page set the entry point at $1 million of monthly notional, and the rebates page shows that $1 million can be five USD/CAD lots opened and five closed. The margin-rates page says cashback goes to traders who reach "$50 million (USD) or more in notional volume monthly." The public pages leave that contradiction standing.
Holding a position past 5pm ET triggers the rollover charge on every tastyfx account. The overnight-funding page builds it from the tom-next rate plus an admin fee of 0.8% a year. Non-dollar profits carry a 0.5% conversion charge, half OANDA's 1.0% mark-up, and OANDA adds a $20 monthly inactivity fee after 12 months idle. The tastyfx inactivity and withdrawal schedules stayed unopened.

Execution claims against the fine print
The execution dashboard leads with "21ms typical execution speeds," a median for the three months to 30 June 2026. The same page says tastyfx was "voted #1 Overall Broker by ForexBrokers.com," while its own footnote assigns that award to IG, the parent, on 28 January 2025. The pricing page carries a narrower and later claim, #1 US Broker on 27 January 2026, which does belong to tastyfx.
FOREX.com dates its execution numbers to 31 May through 30 June 2026, with 0.36 pips of average price improvement per limit order, while the tastyfx sub-second fill share loaded without a figure on 6 November.
The outcome data is the most sober line on the site. Profitable accounts ran 37.93% in the fourth quarter of 2025, 35.19% and 34.5% in the first two quarters of 2026, and 38.53% in the third. More than six in ten active tastyfx accounts lost money in each of those four quarters. The broker comparison table sets the reviewed firms side by side.
FAQ
Is tastyfx the same company as IG?
tastyfx LLC is a separate US entity, NFA ID 0509630, formerly named IG US LLC and still doing business as IG on its BASIC record. BASIC lists IG US Holdings, Inc. as its owner of 10% or more. The footer says it shares that ownership with tastytrade, Inc. and tastylive, Inc., and it describes the three as separate legal entities that answer for their own products. Its regulator is the CFTC, with the NFA as the self-regulatory body.
What does a Zero+ EUR/USD round turn cost?
The account page charges $5 per standard lot per side, so one 100,000-euro lot opened and closed costs $10 in commission. The quoted spread starts at 0.0 pips, and each pip on that lot is worth $10, so a fill at 0.2 pips brings the ticket to $12. Smaller sizes scale down in proportion, with half a lot charged at $2.50 per side.
Does tastyfx publish an average EUR/USD spread?
Its pricing, Standard, Prime and execution pages show minimum spreads only, at 0.8 pips on Standard, 0.6 on Prime and 0.0 on Zero+. FOREX.com, by contrast, published a September 2026 median of 1.5 pips on its spread-only account. Without a tastyfx median, any claim that its spreads are the lowest in the US compares a tastyfx floor with a rival's typical quote.
How much leverage does tastyfx allow on EUR/USD?
EUR/USD carries a 2% margin requirement on Standard and 50:1 leverage on Zero+, which is the same ratio expressed two ways. GBP/USD and USD/JPY sit at 20:1 on Zero+. OANDA's page says the CFTC caps retail leverage at 50:1 on major pairs and 20:1 elsewhere, and FOREX.com's EUR/USD margin is also 2%, so leverage gives none of the three an edge.
Pros, cons, and the 3.5
On the credit side, the Zero+ commission is fixed at $5 a side per lot, and it undercuts OANDA's $14 and FOREX.com's $15.71 round turns on EUR/USD. The Standard floor of 0.8 pips is the lowest everyday-account floor of the three. The NFA record shows zero regulatory actions, arbitrations or reparations since 2018. Platform choice runs from the tastyfx app to TradingView, MetaTrader 5, ProRealTime and a FIX API, and the Standard account opens at $0 with free ACH and debit-card deposits.
Against that, tastyfx prints no typical or average spread, so its best-spreads banner rests on an outside accolade. At its own floors, Zero+ costs $2 more than Standard on a EUR/USD lot. The Prime yield carries a 120-day boost and a $10 million volume condition, and the rebate threshold appears as both $1 million and $50 million. The firm is still an FCM applicant, its revenue footnotes disagree, and 61.47% of active accounts lost money last quarter.
The score follows the house weights on the rating method: costs 35%, safety 30%, platforms 20%, funding 15%. Costs score 3.4, low floors and the cheapest commission offset by the missing median. Safety scores 3.4, a clean NFA record against a dealer-counterparty model with no SIPC cover. Platforms score 3.8 for the range above, and funding scores 3.5 for the $0 minimum and free ACH and debit deposits, with withdrawal terms unopened. The weighted sum is 1.19 plus 1.02 plus 0.76 plus 0.525, which is 3.495, reported as 3.5. The OANDA review runs the same weights on its peer.
Verdict: tastyfx prints the lowest EUR/USD floors and the cheapest commission of the three US dealers, and it withholds the median spread that would let its best-spreads claim be checked.
Figures are the dealers' published US pages and NFA BASIC records as opened on 6 November 2026, with the ECB reference rate of 1.1224 for 5 November 2026. The rating is an opinion about that published service on that date, and the decision to trade stays with the reader.
